Furnace operator — Bourbon County

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Bourbon County, Kansas. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding 2+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. $6,000 per project, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
