Semi-automatic welder wanted in Skagway Municipality

Now hiring: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Skagway Municipality, Alaska. You will work at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. What we are looking for: • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently You will lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
