Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in City of Galax, Virginia. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Your main tasks: • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing What we are looking for: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently Performance bonus on top of base pay. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
