Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska. You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Day to day you will run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel. $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
