Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Marquette County, Wisconsin. Day-to-day duties: • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod You should have: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
