What we are looking for: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On the job you will handle: • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints Rotating shifts.
