Now hiring: we are hiring a finishing presser in Clark County, Indiana. You will be based in a garment export house. Day to day you will clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press. You should have: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
