QC technician — City of Newport News

Great opportunity: we are hiring a QC technician in City of Newport News, Virginia. You will work on a garment production line. Your main tasks: • Segregate and quarantine defective or out-of-tolerance items • Check visually for scratches, dents, burrs and colour variation • Measure finished parts with vernier callipers, micrometers and go/no-go gauges • Escalate recurring defects to the line supervisor or QA engineer • Carry out first-article and in-process checks on the production line • Draw samples from batches according to AQL sampling plans Requirements: • Prior experience as a QC inspector in manufacturing • Able to read engineering drawings and GD&T symbols At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
