Metal caster — City of Alexandria

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a metal caster in City of Alexandria, Virginia. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. You will apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Meals and transport allowance provided.
