HVAC-R technician — City of Suffolk

Immediate opening: we are hiring a HVAC-R technician in City of Suffolk, Virginia. You will be based at a busy refrigeration workshop. Requirements: • 2+ years hands-on experience in refrigeration and AC • Able to braze copper and silver-solder joints • ITI or diploma in refrigeration / RAC trade Day-to-day duties: • Pull a vacuum on the system and check for trapped moisture • Trace electrical circuits with a multimeter • Fault-find control boards and defrost timers • Check superheat and subcooling and trim the charge • Recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system • Trace leaks with an electronic detector and soap solution At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
