Now hiring: we are hiring a lift maintenance fitter in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. The job is in a residential tower block. You should have: • Comfortable working at height and in confined hoistways • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota On the job you will handle: • Respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers • Replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays • Fill in the service logbook and statutory inspection paperwork • Run load and overload tests with test weights • Service the traction motor, brake and gearbox • Rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
