Requirements: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing On the job you will handle: • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers Rotating shifts.
