Natural gas fitter — City of Danville

We are recruiting: we are hiring a natural gas fitter in City of Danville, Virginia. You will be based at a busy gas installation company. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces • Driving licence for travel between sites • 2+ years' experience on domestic and commercial gas installations Your main tasks: • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints • Install flue and chimney terminals and check for adequate ventilation • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray • Read isometric drawings and mark out the pipe routes • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Share your details and we will call you back.
