Vacancy available: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Bartholomew County, Indiana. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day-to-day duties: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding Full-time, day shift.
