What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day The role involves strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges.
