Occupational health and safety officer — Blackburn with Darwen

Immediate opening: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Blackburn with Darwen, England. The job is on a road and infrastructure project. Ideal candidate: • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot Your main tasks: • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Update the risk register and method statements (RAMS) • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors We offer £12 per hour plus benefits. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
