Vacancy available: we are hiring a head butcher in Colusa County, California. You will be based at a halal meat counter. What we are looking for: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • 2+ years experience working as a butcher The role involves: • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone Part-time with flexible hours. $160 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
