You should have: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings Day to day you will use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; give each garment a final press before packing; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure.
