Great opportunity: we are hiring a head butcher in City of Alexandria, Virginia. You will be based at a halal meat counter. Day-to-day duties: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Season and marinate meat on request • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain You should have: • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required $29 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
