Vertical milling machine operator • Cherokee County, Georgia

Great opportunity: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Cherokee County, Georgia. You will be based in a CNC machining unit. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters Ideal candidate: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
