Immediate opening: we are hiring a mason's helper in Cedar County, Iowa. You will work with a civil contractor. Requirements: • Able to follow the mason's and supervisor's instructions • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Physically fit and comfortable working at height Day to day you will load and unload trucks of cement, steel bar and aggregate; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up; mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator; set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction; bend and tie rebar with binding wire for slabs and columns. Rotating shifts. Performance bonus on top of base pay. We offer $4,500 per month plus benefits. Contact us to fix an interview.
