We are recruiting: we are hiring a tig welder in Ogle County, Illinois. The role involves select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding. What we are looking for: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Rotating shifts.
