Immediate opening: we are hiring a butcher in Montgomery County, Iowa. You will work at a wholesale meat market. Ideal candidate: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry Day-to-day duties: • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts Pay around $16 per hour, based on your experience.
