HGV driver — Galveston County

Now hiring: we are hiring a HGV driver in Galveston County, Texas. The job is in a refrigerated transport fleet. Requirements: • Physically fit for long hours behind the wheel • Confident with manual handling and load securing • Good knowledge of driving-hours and tachograph rules Day to day you will operate tail-lifts and pump trucks during loading and unloading; present documents at weighbridges and check posts; couple and uncouple the trailer and check the fifth-wheel lock; secure loads with ratchet straps, chains and load bars; keep a safe following distance, adjusting for weather and load; report defects and book the unit in for servicing. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. Meals and transport allowance provided. $30 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
