Metal caster — Ellsworth County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Ellsworth County, Kansas. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Full-time with occasional weekends.
