Concrete labourer • Tompkins County, New York

Great opportunity: we are hiring a concrete labourer in Tompkins County, New York. You will be based on a building construction site. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolds • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Willing to wear safety boots, helmet and full PPE Day-to-day duties: • Fix and tie reinforcement bars and mesh as per the bar bending schedule • Discharge and place concrete from transit mixers and pumps into the forms • Compact fresh concrete with immersion poker vibrators to clear honeycombing • Erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Patch honeycombs and tie-rod holes with non-shrink grout 2+ years on the tools preferred.
