Gas meter installer • City of Alexandria, Virginia

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a gas meter installer in City of Alexandria, Virginia. The job is at a heating and plumbing contractor. On the job you will handle: • Read isometric drawings and mark out the pipe routes • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Fix pipe clips, brackets and wall sleeves and sleeve pipe through walls • Purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate • Complete gas safety certificates and label the finished installation • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints Ideal candidate: • Driving licence for travel between sites • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration Six days a week, one day off.
