Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Pierce County, Georgia. The job is on a commercial construction site. Ideal candidate: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On a typical shift you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts.
