Occupational health and safety officer • Accomack County, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Accomack County, Virginia. You will work on a road and infrastructure project. Your main tasks: • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports • Ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site You should have: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
