Argon welding operator — City of Edinburgh

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welding operator in City of Edinburgh, Scotland. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. You should have: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces On a typical shift you will back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run.
