Urgent requirement: offshore rigger (Virginia)

We are recruiting: we are hiring an offshore rigger in King George County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket Day to day you will read lift plans and method statements before starting; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $4,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off.
