Occupational health and safety officer — Passaic County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Passaic County, New Jersey. The job is at a busy construction site. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training Day-to-day duties: • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements 4+ years on the tools preferred.
