Pipe tig welder — Boyd County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Boyd County, Kentucky. The job is at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Day-to-day duties: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
