Join our team: we are hiring a dogger in Shelby County, Iowa. The job is at a container port. You should have: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather Day to day you will establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight.
