Great opportunity: we are hiring a fettler in James City County, Virginia. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding $4,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
