Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment On a typical shift you will spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board.
