Now hiring: we are hiring an earthmoving plant operator in Amherst County, Virginia. You will be based at a plant hire yard. You should have: • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance • Comfortable working long shifts in dust, heat and noise On the job you will handle: • Read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles • Backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations • Stockpile and spread material to the required levels • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects Six days a week, one day off.
