Join our team: furniture assembly handyman (Scotland)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furniture assembly handyman in Midlothian, Scotland. The job is in student accommodation during move-in week. You will use a cordless drill/driver and hex keys to tighten fittings to the right torque; move and position heavy furniture without marking floors, walls or doorframes; anchor tall furniture to the wall with anti-tip straps and brackets; assemble wardrobes, beds, cabinets, desks and bookshelves from flat-pack panels; assemble office furniture: desks, task chairs, partitions and workstations; break down and remove packaging, cardboard and polystyrene after the job. Ideal candidate: • Working knowledge of wall fixings and anchor types for different wall materials • Proven experience assembling flat-pack and bespoke furniture • Able to read assembly diagrams and manuals accurately Full-time with occasional weekends.
