Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in Autauga County, Alabama. The job is on a new-build development. You should have: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks The role involves buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays.
