Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Dudley, England. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor The role involves: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
