Great opportunity: we are hiring a fettler in Humboldt County, California. You will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills Rotating shifts.
