Gtaw welder wanted in Logan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Logan County, Illinois. You will work in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Day to day you will set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints. You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through 6+ years on the tools preferred. $4,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
