Occupational health and safety officer • Onondaga County, New York

Now hiring: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Onondaga County, New York. You will work in a chemical processing unit. You will run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports. You should have: • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
