Immediate opening: we are hiring a landscape gardener in Whatcom County, Washington. You will be based at a private estate garden. You should have: • Physically fit for bending, lifting and long hours outdoors • Happy to work outdoors in all weather • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish The role involves: • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings • Plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings • Apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers • Check and adjust sprinkler timers and irrigation heads • Mow and edge lawns with petrol and ride-on mowers Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
