Trainee butcher • Sutton County, Texas

Great opportunity: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Sutton County, Texas. The job is at a busy retail butcher's shop. On a typical shift you will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; season and marinate meat on request; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder. You should have: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate 2+ years on the tools preferred. $170 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
