On a typical shift you will cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet; read and work from architectural drawings and cutting lists; glue, clamp, screw and dowel joints together; lay laminate, engineered and solid wood flooring; erect formwork and shuttering for concrete pours; install skirting boards, architraves and dado rails. You should have: • Good eye for detail and a clean finish • Confident with hand and power tools such as saws, routers and planers Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
