Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Smith County, Texas. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding On the job you will handle: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
