Pastry baker — Sumter County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a pastry baker in Sumter County, Alabama. You will work at an in-store supermarket bakery. On a typical shift you will score the top of loaves before baking; pipe and fill cakes, pastries and cream rolls; laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter; prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity; shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand; load and unload the deck oven with a peel. What we are looking for: • Basic cake decorating and piping skills • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving • Understanding of food-safety and HACCP basics At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
