Now hiring: we are hiring a steam press operator in Yakima County, Washington. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. What we are looking for: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work The role involves hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
