Immediate opening: core maker (Yobe State)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Geidam, Yobe State. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding The role involves: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Full-time, day shift.
